New Silent Dismissal Procedures Effective September 11, 2023
Dear PACT Elementary Families:
With all of the great opportunities our current expansion provides, we want to ensure that we have procedures in place for a safe and orderly dismissal. Silent Dismissal™ alerts classroom teachers when a bus arrives or the parent/guardian has arrived to the pick-up lane, and allows parents/guardians the ability to change their student’s dismissal plans without contacting the school office. Here’s how it works:
Silent Dismissal™is an online system that all PACT K-5 families will use to tell the school exactly how they want their children dismissed at the end of each school day. This may include car pick-up, bus, walking, or staying for an after-school activity. PACT requires that families use this system so that the school can provide a safe and accurate dismissal for every child. Parents/Guardians complete a Monday through Friday schedule online, which the school follows. Easy!
Please note:
- End-of-day pick-up time is from 3:15-3:30 p.m. If you are later than 3:30 p.m. you must come into the main office (at door 1) to pick up your student and show a photo ID.
- Each family will be provided at least two carpool number tags to be used when your student(s) are picked up from school at the end of the day (3:15-3:30 p.m.). Please show this number to staff as you pull through the pick-up lane.
- If you send a different person to pick up your student, he or she must also have this number to display or come to the office to sign out your student. If you misplace your cards, the front office can reissue them to you.
- Parents/Guardians will be able to access Silent Dismissal™ two ways:
- Web Access – Each parent/guardian can access the Silent Dismissal website through PACT’s Silent Dismissal link. Your login information for this site will be included on the car tag you will receive during our Elementary Back-to-School Open House on September 7 from 4:30-6 p.m. From this site you can perform the following operations for student(s) associated with your account:
- Set the default dismissal method(s) used for 90+% of the school year. Note: Students who take the bus after school will have 'bus' as their default status.
- There is a change in your dismissal plans, and you need to change the default dismissal method. Overrides for the current day must be submitted before 2:45 p.m. After that time, the system will not accept changes for the current day.
- If you don’t have your dismissal card, your student will remain the the school. Please come to the school office (Door 1) and show a photo ID.
- Silent Dismissal™ Mobile App – Parents/guardians may also access the service via a mobile app for either Android or Apple devices. Through this app, you can complete the same functions listed above in web access.
We know that starting a new dismissal process may seem daunting, but we believe this tool is the best way to do so. We know the first week will be slow, and we ask for your patience.
