The Culinary 2 students at PACT Charter School have achieved an important milestone in their culinary education by completing the ServSafe Food Handler course through the National Restaurant Association. This rigorous training ensures students understand essential food safety principles, helping prevent foodborne illnesses and protect public health.

We proudly announce that all 37 exam students passed, earning their official food handler certification! This accomplishment equips them with the knowledge and skills to excel in the food industry, giving them an advantage over other job applicants who may not have the same training.

The ServSafe Food Handler Certification is a widely recognized credential designed for food service workers such as cooks, waitstaff, and dishwashers. The certification covers critical topics, including:

  • Basic food safety
  • Cleaning and sanitation
  • Cross-contamination prevention
  • Personal hygiene
  • Time and temperature control

To earn the certification, students completed the ServSafe Food Handler course, passed a 40-question exam, and received an instructor-signed certificate. This achievement is a testament to their dedication and hard work.

The Culinary Arts program at PACT is designed to provide students with real-world skills. While Culinary 1 focuses on the fundamentals of food preparation, Culinary 2 is geared toward preparing students for careers in the food industry. The ServSafe certification gives students an edge in securing employment in restaurants, catering companies, food trucks, and food processing facilities. It also positions them for future opportunities, such as becoming a food safety manager or auditor.

Earning this certification benefits employers as well beyond personal growth. Certified employees contribute to improved health inspection results and boost customer confidence. Additionally, students with a food handler certification may have increased potential for promotions and pay raises in the workforce.

Congratulations to our Culinary 2 students on this outstanding achievement! Their hard work and commitment to food safety will serve them well as they pursue careers in the culinary world.
