DEFINITIONS
“Family Unit” shall include each individual member of the family.
“Debt” specifically includes fees owed as a result of checks returned due to insufficient funds or other causes, any money owed for activities, products, or services rendered, and any expenses incurred in the collections process as a result of this policy.
POLICY STATEMENT
PACT Charter School needs to collect activity fees for various extra-curricular activities. This policy addresses how those fees will be collected, the deadlines to pay fees and outcomes for unpaid fees.
PRACTICE
PACT Charter school will attempt to collect fees promptly. Families will have the ability to pay fees in one of two ways:
- Electronically through an approved online payment vendor.
- In-person in the school office.
To be eligible to participate in extra-curricular activities, students need to successfully complete the online registration process, including full payment of the assigned activity fee before the first day of practice.
To participate in volleyball or basketball, families will make a game worker deposit to the school before the start of the season. The Activities Director will determine how many workers are needed to host games throughout the year. Families will be required to sign up to work the determined amount of games. If a family does not fulfill the work for the required amount of games, the deposit check will be cashed at the end of the season.
If a family unit has unpaid debt from a previous activity, they will not be allowed to participate in any future activities until their current debt has been paid in full.
If a family unit maintains a debt with the school for more than 60 days after the end of the season (see dates above), the Business Office is authorized to pursue other collections options as approved.
