Parents/Guardians,
According to the U.S. General Education Provisions Act and Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, PACT Charter School designates the following information as “Directory Information”:
DIRECTORY INFORMATION
- Student Name
- Age
- Participation in officially recognized activities and sports
- Height and weight of members of athletic teams
- Degrees and awards received
- The most recent educational agency or institution attended by the student
The Minnesota Data Privacy Act requires “secondary institutions” to provide notice to students in grades 11 and 12 and their parents/guardians of their right to refuse the release of names, addresses, and telephone numbers which now must be submitted to military officers upon request unless exempted by signed refusal. Directory information is public information under Minnesota law unless a written document denying the release of the data is on file in the school office.
Sincerely,
Dr. Nathan Flansburg
Superintendent of Schools
