Fall 2020: Updated Decision for Fall Start

August 7, 2020

On August 6, the PACT School Board of Directors approved all learning plans — In-Person, Hybrid, and Distance — for both Elementary and Secondary. The approved learning plans are posted on the PACT website

The Board also approved the Continuity of Education Policy, which allows PACT administration to change learning plans without School Board approval, based on trending health data and recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health.

After much consideration and input from the Board of Directors, teachers, and parents, and in reviewing the upward trend of COVID-19 cases in Anoka County, the administration has decided to start the school year in the Hybrid Learning Plan at 50% capacity for both Elementary and Secondary.

We plan to evaluate trend data of COVID-19 and consider moving Elementary to in-person learning after the first four weeks of school if numbers improve. Significant improvement in numbers would need to be made to switch to an in-person model for Secondary.

Keep in mind that the learning format may change throughout the school year, depending on COVID-19 conditions in the counties where our staff and students reside. Such a change would be based on guidance from health officials and state agencies. Families will receive information through regular communication outlets if adjustments become necessary.
