Purpose
This policy aims to inform the PACT Charter School community of the rights, responsibilities, and privileges connected to PACT’s internet and technology usage.
Policy Statement
Students are personally responsible for their behavioral choices in using any technology at school. Access to equipment and network services is a privilege granted to students who act responsibly. The school provides staff and technology to assist students in following procedures that protect students from materials considered harmful to minors. Network and computer storage systems may be reviewed by school staff to maintain service integrity and ensure responsible use, including email, apps, and documents.
PACT uses web-based tools for students and staff, such as Google Apps for Education, to provide email, word processing, and other education services that require personally identifiable information about students, including their email address, name, grade, and teacher. PACT will notify families by letter, newsletter, or website of the web-based tools used with students, in addition to the Google Apps. Parents may request, in writing, that their student’s access cease and accounts be removed.
See the current PACT Charter School Family Handbook for more information.
