Military Information

PACT proudly works with area recruiters to help students gain access to military information. Recruiters often set up lunchroom visits. Interested students can talk with a recruiter and/or pick up information from the table. PACT strives to support students interested in any branch of the military. For further information or help reaching a recruiter, please contact your School Counselor.

High School Seniors Direct Admissions Minnesota

Direct Admissions Minnesota aims to make college accessible to all students. The program notifies graduating seniors from selected Minnesota high schools that they have been pre-approved for admission to multiple partner colleges and universities. This means that students can apply confidently, knowing they are already accepted.

Here's how Direct Admissions works: At the beginning of the school year, seniors on track to graduate will receive personalized communication from PACT and the Office of Higher Education. This communication will list all the participating Minnesota colleges and universities that have proactively admitted them. Students then must complete a free admissions application for each college or university they are interested in attending. The application fees are waived as part of the Direct Admissions program.

Even though students have been directly admitted to the institutions on their list, they must submit applications according to each college or university's deadlines. Some schools may require additional materials like essays or standardized test scores. Students are encouraged to do their own research, visit the institutions' websites or campuses, explore different majors and programs, and consider tuition costs and financial aid options.

The colleges and universities will process students' applications according to their own timelines. After submitting their applications, students will receive an official acceptance letter. If students have any questions about the status of their application, they can contact the institution directly.

Over 50 Minnesota colleges and universities are participating in the Direct Admissions program. This includes community colleges, technical schools, tribal colleges, public universities, and private institutions. A full list of participating colleges and universities can be found here.

If students are interested in applying to postsecondary institutions that are not on their personalized list, they need to follow the standard application process for those schools.
