Pantherettes
Welcome to the PACT Dance Team!
The Pantherettes dance team offers two programs for secondary students: a non-competitive team in the fall and a competitive team in the winter. They are considered separate activities; dancers may participate in one or both.
Fall:
The main goals of the fall performance dance team are promoting school spirit by performing at school and community events -- such as football games, parades, and pep fests -- and training for the upcoming winter competitive season. Fall is a great opportunity for new dancers to enter dance team training in a fun, casual setting. The fall season is a much lower commitment than the winter competitive season, with only 2-3 practices a week, 3-4 performances, and a 7-week season. There are no tryouts to make the fall team, so everyone dances! Our routines are fun and choreographed with all ages, experience levels, and an academic environment in mind. Dancers may perform parade, hip-hop, partner, and game-day style field routines during the fall season.
Winter:
Dance Team is a competitive, MSHSL-sponsored sport. PACT started our dance team program in 2006. We are a no-cuts team competing at Class A's Varsity and JV levels. In a typical season, we perform at several competitions and school events. We compete in the styles of High Kick and Jazz. Despite being one of the smallest schools in MN with a dance team, PACT is well-recognized state-wide in the Class A Dance Team community.
The PDT runs on tradition, community, and hard work. We also strive to push boundaries, be creative, and go outside our comfort zones in new ways each season. These core values have built up a reputable team culture and have led us to earn eleven state qualifications in the last decade (three in kick and eight in jazz), including three Section Championship titles (2014, 2015, 2017).
