Pantherettes Assistant Coach, Kelsey Field ‘14, surprised the dance team on January 19 when she walked into the gym for their biggest competition of the year -- the Cannon Falls Invitational. But the surprises continued as she walked out with them as champions!
Field is currently working on her master’s degree at Life University in Georgia and watches most of the competitions online, but decided to fly to Minnesota to surprise her team. Field said, "Our goal was to get 4th in kick and top 3 in jazz, and we were shocked and so excited to receive 2nd in high kick and to WIN the jazz division! The girls danced PERFECT performances. I was so proud and loved getting to cheer them on in person!”
Field graduated from PACT in 2014 and as dance captain lead PACT to their first state tournament where they placed 11th in Jazz and 8th in Kick. After graduation she signed on as assistant coach, and in 2015 was named Class A Assistant Coach of the Year by the Minnesota Association of Dance Teams after leading PACT to their second state tournament. PACT has only missed one state tournament since.
The Pantherettes are counting down to this year’s state tournament and are looking forward to sections on February 9.
