Governance
The PACT Charter School Board of Directors agrees to uphold the mission of PACT to partner as parents, students, and staff to develop students of character and academic excellence. The Board provides overall direction for PACT's development and growth, evaluates the Executive Directors, approves all significant educational and operational policies, and monitors compliance.
Membership
The Board consists of parents, teachers, and a community representative. All members are elected to the Board unless an opening occurs mid-term, in which case the Board has the authority to fill that position by appointment. The Executive Directors and Authorizer Liaison act as advisors to the Board.
Open and Closed Meetings
All School Board meetings are open to the public, except those closed as permitted by law to discuss legal or personnel issues. Meeting notices and agendas are posted on the school website before the meeting.
Open Mic and Correspondence
The public can address the Board on topics they feel are important during Open Mic with a time limit of two minutes unless there is a unanimous vote to continue. To participate, please arrive early to sign up, as the time limit for all Open Mic speakers is 20 minutes. Complaints about individuals will not be allowed during open mic due to data privacy concerns and should follow the Complaint Policy. The committee chair will enforce this.
Correspondence should be sent to the Board Clerk at least 24 hours before the meeting to be included in the meeting packet. The Board of Directors will not recognize anonymous communication.
